\r\nTarsky Historical and Local Lore Museum is one of the oldest museums in the Omsk Region, marking its 80th anniversary in 2012. Located in the historic center of the town, the museum building houses 13,800 exhibits, as well as a collection of rare and valuable items included in the catalogue of rare and valuable items of district museums of the Omsk Region. The museum presents rich collections of icons, carved wooden window surrounds, and samovars used for brewing tea from the second half of the 19th century to the 20th century. Temporary exhibitions are regularly held: "The Emperor of White Cups", "Windows of Old Tara", "Holy Faces", etc. The museum also hosts two permanent exhibitions: "The Animal and Plant World of the Tarsky District" and "The History of Tara from its Foundation to the Period of the 1917 Revolution".
