Suvorov District Local History Museum
About museum
Since November 3, 1967 the Suvorov District Local History Museum has been open to visitors; it was established as a people's institution thanks to the efforts of public organizations. It is located in a Finnish house and is constantly being updated. In 1988–1990 a new exhibition was created consisting of two halls: "The Historical Past of the District" and "Cherepetsky District in the Years of the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945." The third hall is used for exhibitions, and since 1996 there has been a tradition of annual historical-and-everyday-life expeditions around the district. The museum's exhibits consist of household items, ethnography, archaeology, handicrafts, and numismatics. The museum hosts lessons in courage and history, memorial days, talks, lectures, literary and local-history evenings, as well as meetings with war and labor veterans, artists, and collectors. The museum regularly holds exhibitions from its own collections and from private collections.
