Sretensk District Local History Museum

About museum

In 1930 a local history museum was established in Sretensk. It houses materials on the history of this town and its district. The total area of the institution's exhibition halls is 300 square meters. They include six halls: "Military Glory", dedicated to participants of the Great Patriotic War (World War II); two nature halls of our region, "Forest-Steppe" and "Taiga"; the hall "Sretensk and its Surroundings, 17th-19th centuries"; the "Merchant" hall; and the Soviet Period hall. In addition, the museum regularly organizes temporary exhibitions from its own collection and from other museums.
