Severouralsk Local History Museum
About museum
The museum's collections include more than 12,000 items; they form the basis of 17 different collections. About 15% of the items from these collections are on display. The exhibits are kept in the storage facility and in five departments of the permanent exhibition: geological; natural history; ethnography (Mansi and Russian populations); and the history of the town's development and enterprises. The museum was opened on April 22, 1970; in 1991 it began operating as a branch of the Karpinsk Historical Museum; in 2006 it acquired legal entity status. In 2011 it became the municipal budgetary cultural institution "Severouralsk Local History Museum", founded by the Administration of the Severouralsk Urban District.
