Serdobsk Local History Museum
About museum
The museum in Serdobsk was founded in November 1919 at the initiative of M. M. Cheremisinova on the basis of the natural history cabinet of the real school. Initially, the museum housed paleontological, zoological, and botanical collections that were used for natural science lessons and have not been preserved. Over the years the museum became a local history museum and was housed in an old building originally built as a parish school. Today the museum has five halls: Nature, Regional History, Antiquities, Glory, and the artist-illustrator N. V. Kuzmina. The Nature Hall introduces the district's geography; the History Hall tells about the socio-cultural development of the Serdobsk region; the Antiquities Hall presents interiors of bourgeois and noble households. The Hall of Glory is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, and the clock collection delights with the finest details.
