About museum
In 1994 the Pronsky Local History Museum was opened; in 2006 it obtained municipal status. The museum is located in the building of the Pronsky county school, built in 1836. Outstanding people such as I. V. Michurin, I. I. Shcherbakov, K. B. Ptitsa and others grew up here. The museum's exhibits demonstrate the daily life and activities of our ancestors, as well as interesting materials about notable people of the district. Church and monastic household items occupy a significant place in the exhibition. The museum's collection consists of 2,761 inventory items. The museum's mission is the study and presentation of the history of the Pronsky land. The museum hosts exhibitions of local craftsmen and artists, as well as lectures on crime prevention and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. The museum engages youth and art professionals in its activities.
