Pavlovo-Posad Exhibition Hall 'Shirokov House'
About museum
The house of D. Shirokov is a true monument to the town's history and culture. It was built by a local first-guild merchant solidly and with the largesse typical of merchants. During his lifetime he donated the house for public use. During the Great Patriotic War the house's massive walls provided warmth and comfort to those in need. However, the house fell into disrepair, and if not for the city authorities it would have crumbled with age. On the occasion of the town's 150th anniversary the house was opened to the public. A memorial plaque and an exhibition hall were installed there. For 28 years it has hosted exhibitions, concerts, lectures, and events by local artists, photographers, poets, musicians and other creative people.
