Paranginsky Local History Museum
About museum
On January 1, 1991, the Paranginsky Local History Museum was opened by decision of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Mari El as a branch of the Republican Scientific and Local History Museum named after T. E. Evseev, with Samigullina Alfiya Mukhametovna serving as the head. In 1997 the museum came under the administration of the municipal formation 'Paranginsky Municipal District'. However, in 2008, after the building had deteriorated and ceiling slabs collapsed, the museum was left in an emergency condition. Despite this, thanks to the efforts of the staff of the Department of Culture, Physical Culture and Sports, it was decided to resume the museum's operations and to open a museum and exhibition center (MEC). During the inventory of exhibits it was established that some items were damaged and beyond restoration. Today the museum attracts the attention of many people and is known as a historically conditioned multifunctional institute of social information intended for the preservation of cultural-historical and natural-scientific values.
