About museum

The collections of the Department of Museum and Exhibition Work comprise more than 30,000 storage units, divided into 11 collections: archaeological, natural history, paper and monetary items, art, documents, numismatics, printed publications, objects related to the history of technology, historical and everyday items, ethnographic, and phaleristic. The halls used for exhibitions and cultural-educational events include the Hall of History, Ethnography and Archaeology of the Sovetsky District, an exhibition hall for temporary displays, and a hall for mass events. Each year the museum holds more than 30 exhibitions, for which exhibits are drawn from the museum's own collections, from state and municipal museums of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra, as well as from private collections.
