Taldom Historical and Literary Museum

The building of the Taldom Museum was built in the late 19th - early 20th century by merchant D. I. Volkov in the Art Nouveau style, with balconies and Monier-constructed ceilings. The building is made of green glazed tiles. The museum has preserved the layout of the rooms, doors, stucco, stoves and fittings. It houses more than 17,000 exhibits, including household and ethnographic items, porcelain, documents and others. The museum presents various exhibitions where visitors can learn about the history of Taldom, see the famous Taldom footwear, as well as the interiors of parlors in merchant houses. In the Literary Hall, visitors learn about the life and work of writers and poets of the Taldom region. In the exhibition "White Gold of the Northern Moscow Region" one can learn about porcelain production from different periods. Today the Taldom Museum is a regular center of cultural attention and a popular place for residents and visitors to spend their leisure time.
