About museum
The exhibition 'Traditional Culture of the Komi People in Life-Cycle Rites' (2002) is based on a fairy-tale plot compiled from folkloric materials. It allows one to trace the relationship between man and woman, the main creators of Komi culture. The exhibition sections are arranged according to the principle of the hunter's route, and its second title 'Олiсны-вылiсны гозъя… Жила-была пара…' indicates the life path of a Komi couple. To present Komi culture, the exhibition's authors used life-cycle rites: from birth to death. They created conventionally staged complexes: 'Love Games', 'Wedding', 'Childbirth', 'Hunting Grounds', 'Home — a Full Chalice', 'Yuletide Divinations', showing the most significant events along this path.
