Since 1958 the Nytvensky Local History Museum has been a venue for local-history tours, festivals, master classes, and exhibitions.
The Nytvensky Local History Museum was opened in 1958 for the 200th anniversary of the metallurgical plant. The museum's founder was Pavel Semenovich Sonin, a graduate student at Moscow State University. Under his leadership, young local historians and other like-minded people collected antique items, clothing, weapons, coins, and other objects. Currently the museum holds about 15,000 items in its collections. Special attention is given to the documentary records of the Nytva volost of the 19th century, the archive of the Nytva Metallurgical Plant, and metalwork. The museum is located in a historic building recognized as an architectural monument. A distinctive feature of the museum is the exhibition "The History of the Spoon."
