Alexey Stavitsky is the founder of the first piano museum-workshop in Russia, a musician, owner of a collection of historic pianos, a restorer and master tuner. He was born in Moscow in 1961. After finishing school, he entered the music college at the Moscow Conservatory. He then served in the army, and afterwards enrolled in the Gnessin Institute.
  
In 1990 he established his own workshop. In 2021 he moved his collection of grand pianos from Moscow to the Yaroslavl region; it now comprises more than 100 antique instruments, including ones from the households of Oistrakh, Igumnov, and Mussorgsky. Alexey regularly gives concerts on behalf of the Piano Museum (Rybinsk) in various cities under the title "Good Music".
