Novousmansky District Local History Museum
About museum
On May 9, 1983, a Museum of Military and Labor Glory was opened in the district. The museum's exhibitions introduce visitors to the district's history and its notable fellow countrymen. One of the permanent exhibitions is "He who does not remember the past has no future", which features authentic artifacts and materials that tell about the everyday, socio-economic, and cultural life of the district since the late 19th century. Special attention in the museum is given to the theme of war. The exhibition "Residents of Novousman Defending the Fatherland" contains a photographic collection and historical-documentary materials about local veteran compatriots who participated in the Great Patriotic War. In addition, the Soviet-period hall presents the exhibition "It Was Recent, It Was Long Ago", allowing visitors to immerse themselves in another era. The museum's collections are continuously replenished through donations from local residents and district visitors, totaling more than 3,000 items. New exhibitions are regularly opened, inviting visitors on a journey of historical discovery.
