About museum
\r\nIn 1976, the Novokubansk Local History Museum was established, where staff collect, preserve, and study museum collections that reconstruct the history of the Novokubansk district. Visitors can see exhibitions on topics such as 'Archaeology', 'Founding of the village of Kubansky', 'the Khutorok estate of Baron V. R. Shteingel', 'Household items of Kuban Cossack families' and 'Novokubansk district during the Great Patriotic War (World War II)'. Each year the museum adds between 1,500 and 2,000 items to its collection. The collections include archaeological materials, banknotes (notaphily) and coins (numismatics), paintings by local artists, archival documents, household items, award documents, ceremonial banners, cups and other objects representing historical stages in the development of the Novokubansk district. In addition, the museum runs various programs including lectures, walking tours, multimedia presentations, conferences and competitions on the history of the area. The museum is visited by approximately 7,000 people each year.
