The National Museum of the Republic of Adygea, one of the oldest local history museums of the North Caucasus, was founded in 1925. The museum's exhibitions tell the story of the history, culture and nature of the Republic of Adygea.

\r\nThe museum's permanent exhibitions include: "Culture and Everyday Life of the Adyghe in the Late 18th - Early 19th Centuries", "Adygea during the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945", "The Bronze Age in the Northwestern Caucasus", "Natural History of the Northwestern Caucasus. Landscapes of Adygea."

\r\nIn addition to major projects, the museum hosts exhibitions dedicated to prominent scholars, figures of the arts and patrons who have left their mark on Adygea's history, as well as exhibitions on significant events in the history and culture of the peoples of the region.

\r\nThe National Museum of the Republic of Adygea has a branch — the T. Kerashev Literary Museum, which hosts literary and musical evenings and creative meetings with well-known Adygean artists, poets and composers.

\r\nToday the National Museum's collections hold more than 370,000 items. This is a unique collection of traditional Adyghe clothing, musical instruments, weapons, precious stones, coins, etc. The museum houses a very rich collection of archaeological exhibits. The archaeology collection, according to Caucasus archaeologists, is one of the most representative in southern Russia. It contains more than 100,000 exhibits covering virtually all periods of the historical development of the Northwestern Caucasus from the Paleolithic to the Late Middle Ages.
