The Novokhopyorsky Local History Museum is located in the city center in a 19th-century mansion. In five halls the exhibition presents materials about the district's past. Here you can see the anchor from the Pristanskaya shipyard, found in the floodplain of the Khopyor River on the Luchka spit. The museum's collection is constantly being replenished with items held by local residents and archaeological finds. The museum displays materials on nature, ethnography, the history of the first half of the 20th century, military glory, the second half of the 20th century, as well as on the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War. Photographs of the defenders of the homeland, their letters and awards are exhibited here. This helps to better understand the past, remember and honor the heroes. The museum has been open since 1986 and attracts many visitors.
