Museum and Exhibition Hall "At Reindeer's Mountain"
About museum
Guided tours with video accompaniment are offered at the Museum and Exhibition Hall "At Reindeer's Mountain", allowing visitors to learn about the activities of the Olenegorsk Mining and Processing Plant, see unique household items of the Sámi people aged 50–100 years, and even have a photoshoot with the exhibits. Hall No. 1 presents the history of the town and the plant, as well as the mineral and raw material base of the Kola Peninsula and models of mining equipment. Here you can view the installation "Geologists' Field Camp" and learn about the history of the discovery and development of iron ore deposits. The "Reindeer" hall features an exhibition of decorative and applied arts and everyday life of the indigenous people of the Kola Arctic — the Sámi, who call themselves the reindeer people. Temporary exhibitions from museums and private collections are also displayed here.
