Museum and Local History Center 'Poznyakov House'
About museum
1246 is considered the year of Tarusa's founding, which was the center of the Principality of Tarusa. The first prince was Yuri Mikhailovich, son of Mikhail Vsevolodovich of Chernigov. In 1988 a local history museum was opened on a public/voluntary basis, and in 1989 it became a branch of the Kaluga Regional Local History Museum. In 2003 a literary exhibition 'Tarusa-Garden. Russian Barbizon' was presented. Tarusa still gratefully remembers its honorary citizen K. G. Paustovsky, who left a house and garden in the town that are a true monument to the past.

Trubochkina — the most interesting items in the holdings.
