E. F. Liskun Museum of Animal Husbandry
About museum
The State Museum of Animal Husbandry was established in 1950 and is named after its founder, Academician Yefim Fedotovich Liskun. The museum was organized on the basis of the craniological and osteological collections that the scientist gathered throughout his life.
The museum features halls with collections of cattle skulls, taxidermy specimens, as well as exhibitions on various branches of animal husbandry: poultry farming, pig farming, sheep breeding, dairy and beef cattle breeding. The halls of decorative and applied arts and biodiversity are particularly engaging. The memorial study of Academician E. F. Liskun is interesting for the scientist's personal belongings, his letters, and his awards and certificates.
In the hall "History of Zootechnical Science" it is interesting to hear about the emergence and development of animal husbandry in Russia. Interactive classes have been developed for younger schoolchildren — "make farm animals out of modeling clay and fill a farm with them." Schoolchildren are introduced to various representatives of domestic farm animals.
