D. V. Venevitinov Estate Museum
About museum
On the banks of the Don River, in the village of Novozhivotinnoye, there is an estate that belonged to the old noble Venevitinov family. The architectural complex of the estate museum includes a two-story mansion, a park with a pond, and a rotunda. It is also associated with the Russian poet, prose writer, philosopher and critic D. V. Venevitinov; this is the only museum in Russia dedicated to him. The house's interiors are partially restored to their 19th-century appearance, and the exhibition tells about the noble culture of the era of Peter I and its representatives. Modern media technologies are used for visitors, and rare items from the collections are also exhibited. The D. V. Venevitinov Estate Museum has been a structural subdivision of the I. S. Nikitin Museum since 1994.
