About museum

The Admiralty is the building of a former boathouse, designed by V. D. Polenov in 1895, which was used to store boats over the winter. It was built in the half-timbered style typical of Western European medieval architecture and survived the Great Patriotic War. After restoration, the building was turned into an exhibition hall for contemporary artists, where you can see the diorama — Vasily Dmitrievich's last major work. The diorama is a pictorial round-the-world journey.
