The State Museum-Reserve 'Izborsk' is a unique complex covering an area of 7,734 hectares. It preserves a millennial planning and urban structure, as well as more than 200 historical and cultural monuments. The museum features various exhibitions: 'The Chronicle of the Ancient City of Izborsk: From the Beginnings of Russia to the Battle of Poltava', 'Izborsk Land — Holy Sites for Russian Culture', the author exhibition by P.P. Ossovsky 'Izborsk Chamber of Russian Literature and Orthodox Faith', and the ethnographic exhibition 'Russians and Setos. One Land — A Shared History'. The Izborsk Museum-Reserve houses the only manor museum in Russia dedicated to the small Seto people, preserving their unique material and spiritual culture. Since 2011, the Izborsk Museum-Reserve includes the branch 'Museum of the History of the City of Pechory'. This is truly a unique place offering visitors a journey into the past.
