Beldir-Kezhii Museum-Reserve

On May 25, 2019, in the locality of Beldir-Kezhii, near the town of Shagonar, in the territory of the Ulug-Khem kozhuun, the Beldir-Kezhii museum-reserve was officially opened. It features unique structures: a pavilion with the suburgan "Nagaan Dariygi" designed in the Buddhist style, a monument in honor of the Tuvan language with an oath, "Subedeinin dazhy" ("Stone of Dream"), a monument to the Great Uriankhai commander Subedei Maadyr, the symbol of Tengrism in Tuva "Tengri demdey", and a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni weighing 3 tons and standing 3 meters tall. The museum offers guided tours, traveling exhibitions, and educational activities for schoolchildren of Shagonar; it participates in scientific-practical conferences, readings, seminars, and charitable events. As part of the museum program, school-based museums are being established in the towns of Chaata and Aryskan.
