About museum

In 2014, in the village of Shancherovo, a monument to the composer and military conductor, author of the famous march "Farewell of Slavianka" — Vasily Ivanovich Agapkin, was erected by a charitable foundation with the support of the local administration. At the unveiling of the monument, the idea of creating a museum was proposed for the first time. The museum of Vasily Ivanovich Agapkin was founded on September 1, 2018.

Today its exhibitions feature works of painting, graphic art, printed materials, and items of applied art and everyday life from the collections of the historical museum. Events, lectures, and exhibitions for tourists and local residents are held on the museum grounds.
