About museum

In 2007 the Verkhnedonsky District Historical and Local Lore Museum was established to preserve the traditions and customs of the area. In 2009 the museum obtained legal status, and in 2012 it moved to a new building in the center of the stanitsa Kazanskaya. Today the museum's collections comprise more than 3,000 items. The museum features the "Cossack Parlor", "Homestead", archaeology and "Great Patriotic War" exhibitions. There is also an exhibition called "Link Between Times and Generations", where you can see objects and items from the 1950s–1970s. At the museum you can learn about the history and culture of the native region and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the past.
