Sadovoe Koltso Museum
About museum
A unique contemporary museum aimed at the cultural education of Moscow residents and visitors to the capital, located in an old Moscow mansion in the Meshchansky district. It covers various areas of cultural and educational activity and is the only museum in Moscow dedicated to the history and development of this district. It also serves as an information center for district development projects, a consulting center on history, an exhibition complex, and a leisure center for youth and children. The mansion is listed in the register of architectural monuments and dates from the 18th century. The author's name is unknown, but it is presumed to be N. N. Legran. The house was restored after a fire during the occupation of Moscow by French troops. Owners of the house included Prince Dmitry Ivanovich Lobanov-Rostovsky, Major P. V. Grushchetsky, the Decembrist's widow Natalya Dmitrievna Fonvizina, and merchant I. M. Zaytsevsky. The last owner was the merchant's wife Anna Alekseevna Katsislavskaya.
