Rami Garipov Museum

The house-museum of the national poet of Bashkortostan, Rami Garipov, is located in the village of Arkaul. Opened in 1989, it is now one of the attractions of the Salavatsky District. A bust of the poet has been erected. The museum exhibition presents the history of Rami Garipov's life and work. He was persecuted for criticizing Soviet policy. Many of his poems remained unpublished, and the poem "1937" saw the light only in 1987. Rami wrote about his native land, nature and people, and he was also a master of literary translation. The museum houses about 570 exhibits, including the poet's personal belongings, manuscripts, wall newspapers and portraits. The main goal of the museum is the preservation of Rami Garipov's cultural heritage, as well as the organization of tours and exhibitions.
