Apartment on Studenetsky Lane
About museum
The Mayakovsky memorial apartment on Studenetsky Lane, which had been sealed and inaccessible to visitors for about half a century, in late September 2019 opened its doors for the first time to anyone who wants to learn more about the life of the poet's family.

\r\nThe apartment's furnishings have been restored based on surviving photographs and the recollections of contemporaries. The rooms of the poet's mother, Aleksandra Alekseevna, and his elder sister Lyudmila have been reconstructed. The room that belonged to his sister Olga could not be restored due to the complete absence of historical evidence. It is now used for exhibitions, the first of which tells the story of Lyudmila Mayakovskaya's artistic legacy — "Aerography 100 Years Ago. Design: Lyudmila Mayakovskaya".

\r\nThe aim of this detailed reconstruction of a residential apartment from the second half of the 20th century is to fully immerse visitors in an authentic atmosphere and to present the historical and socio-cultural realities of the Mayakovsky family's life, as well as their efforts to preserve the poet's memory after his passing.
