In the 1960s and 1970s, mechanical gaming machines such as pinball were very popular, but with the rise of modern computer technologies they fell into obscurity. Today they can only be found in old resorts or shopping centers. In response to this, the GoPinball project was created, in which the owner of a collection turned his hobby into a museum. Each machine in the museum is a genuine work of engineering — beneath a simple wooden cabinet lies a complex mechanism made up of numerous incandescent bulbs, wires, and coils, as well as a kind of modern computer in the backbox. At the museum, visitors can not only view the machines but also play them, so their technical condition is carefully monitored.
