Printing Museum
About museum
The history of the museum began in 1984 with the establishment of the museum 'V. I. Lenin and the newspaper Pravda'. The house in which it is located was not chosen by chance: it accommodated the editorial office of the newspaper Pravda after the February Revolution. Before that it housed the editorial offices of two other newspapers — Rus and Selsky Vestnik. In the two rooms of the memorial apartment you can learn how newspapers were published at the beginning of the 20th century. In the preserved building of the printing house, built in 1905, visitors can see old printing presses. Next to it is a bookshop opened at the beginning of the 20th century, whose unique interior has been recreated from archival photographs. The museum also contains the exhibition 'Income House. Music Salon', by visiting which you can learn more about Petersburg's tenement houses and see the apartment of a wealthy Petersburg resident on the piano nobile. Visiting the museum is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the history and life of Russia in the early 20th century.
