About museum

In 1988 A. F. Kamenev, the rector of the institution, founded the Museum of History. In 2008 a reconstruction took place and a Museum and Exhibition Complex opened, which was named "Museum of History and Paper" in connection with the project "Museum and the Papermaker Profession." It presents thematic sections: the history of paper and papermaking, the activities of the Pechatkins, contemporary paper, and the scientific and academic life of the university's faculties. The museum has a library with old editions, manuscripts, and recent materials. The exhibition also features large ceramic panels with hand-painted designs on the theme of the history of papermaking. The museum is a member of the Association of University Museums of St. Petersburg.
