The collections of the Ryazan Region museum hold materials that allow visitors to learn about the history of our country. The museum building is of federal significance and is a cultural monument. The 'Letters from the Front' hall shows the fates of Ryazan residents in World War II, and in 'Valor and Glory' the feats of Heroes of the Soviet Union are presented. The hall 'To Multiply the Glory of the Russian Fleet…' tells the story of the development of the Russian Navy. In 'The History of Modern Wars' documents on the wars in Afghanistan and Chechnya are on display. The museum also has a chapel of Saint George the Victorious and hosts temporary exhibitions of painting, photography, applied decorative arts and youth design.
