Olga's Pavilion
About museum
Olga's Pavilion is closed during the winter season and is scheduled to reopen in May 2021. It was a gift from Emperor Nicholas I to his daughter, Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna, on the occasion of her wedding. It was built in the style of Sicilian country villas, where the question of the princess's marriage was settled. It is a three-story tower with a terrace and a staircase; bas-reliefs, balconies and niches with marble busts are visible, as well as dragon-shaped downspouts. The surrounding nature lends an atmosphere of calm and serenity. The pavilion's interior decoration is simple yet refined, and Olga Nikolaevna's trousseau items — linen napkins, table silver, porcelain and silver dining services — befit her rank and dignity. On the third floor is Nicholas I's Study, with a portrait of the Emperor himself and engravings depicting Italian cities.
