Museum of the History of Karakulinsky District
About museum
On February 3, 1991, at the initiative of the Karakulinsky District Executive Committee and, in particular, local historian V. S. Butorin, the Museum of the History of Karakulinsky District was opened as a branch of the Sarapul Museum of History and Culture of the Middle Kama Region. It is housed in the former estate house of merchant Illarion Fotievich Vedernikov, which belonged to his son. The building is a monument of wooden architecture dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The museum's exhibitions are organized into main sections: the Karakulinsky District History section, the Merchants section, the Nature section, the Archaeology section, and the Great Patriotic War section. The history section displays the district's development, and household utensils tell of everyday life and crafts. The hall features panels about the establishment of Soviet power, the first Pioneer detachments, Komsomol cells, outstanding people, and production leaders. The Merchants section is presented as a room showing the interior of the time, and the hall contains information about the rich history of Karakulino.
