About museum

\r\nIn 1970 the museum was opened; since 1978 it has had state status. Its exhibitions present the history of the region's development from the conquest of the coastal lands and the founding of the Cossacks to the present day. Particular attention is paid to the military events of the Great Patriotic War and the war with Japan, as well as the Damansky Island conflict — the largest armed confrontation between Russia and China in modern history.
