The Military-Historical Museum of the Eastern Military District is one of the largest museums in Russia. It houses unique exhibits that trace the long history of the Red Banner Far Eastern Military District in ensuring the defense of the country’s borders. The museum contains more than 20,000 different exhibits, which allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the history of the combined-arms formation. Here you can see original photographs, documents, artifacts, as well as military hardware. Some of them are genuine rarities. Among other exhibits are a prison cell in which Sergei Lazo was held before his execution, the desk from Blucher’s office, a diorama of a battle with Japanese forces, and many other interesting items. The museum also features a large collection of domestic and foreign weapons, awards, and models of soldiers’ uniforms and equipment from the war years.
