Museum "Battle for Leningrad" named after Z.G. Kolobanov
About museum
The "Battle for Leningrad" Museum named after Zinovy Grigoryevich Kolobanov has existed since 2009. It holds more than 10,000 items: tanks, aircraft, tractors and prime movers, artillery systems, fortifications and much more. Most of the equipment was found on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War (World War II) and was restored and made operational by the museum's specialists. Some exhibits were purchased from private collections abroad, while others were saved from being scrapped for metal. The museum takes part in memorial marches, exhibitions and military vehicle parades in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. Each exhibit has its own history and is a source of national pride. The museum is open to visitors by prior arrangement. There is also a restoration workshop on site, and tours are conducted by prior arrangement.
