A.S. Pushkin Museum in Torzhok
About museum
On June 3, 1972 the Tver State Museum dedicated to A.S. Pushkin's travels along the Saint Petersburg–Moscow route was opened. The exhibition was created under the direction of L. A. Kazarskaya in collaboration with staff of the State A.S. Pushkin Museum. It features maps of postal roads, plans and views of towns, postal stations, sledges, parts of horse harness, and portraits of the poet's acquaintances from Tver. In 1979 the exhibition 'The St. Petersburg–Moscow Route in the Life and Work of A.S. Pushkin' was presented. Visitors can imagine all of Pushkin's journeys along the 'Tsar's Road', starting from Saint Petersburg and passing through Torzhok and Tver. The museum is part of the interregional branded route 'Tsar's Road'.
