About museum
On November 9, 2017, a museum was opened at the Kimovsk railway station at the initiative of Russian Railways as part of the “Museum on the Railway” project. The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution and tells about events that took place in the northern part of the Epifansky uyezd during the February and October revolutions. The museum also presents information about the role of the railway in the development of Kimovsk from the small village of Mikhailovka. The museum includes a Young Pioneer room with Soviet-era school desks and Pioneer memorabilia. Presentation-lessons on various topics and projects for railway career guidance for the younger generation are held here. A steam locomotive, Er 787-57, has been restored on the station grounds, and the entire area has been refurbished in the spirit of the Soviet era.
