Intersettlement District Local History Museum
About museum
The local history museum was founded in 1988 at the initiative of the local community. At first it was housed in a small room in the party library, and later moved to the district library. The official opening took place in 2004 on the day of the District's celebration. In 2017 the museum moved to a former clinic built in 1976, and in 2013 the second floor of the building was transferred to the museum's operational management. Thanks to Natalya Aleksandrovna Shtyrova, the museum actively participates in various projects and events organized by the Department of Culture. In 2010 it won a prize in a regional competition dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In 2011 the museum organized an expedition across the district and published a journal-almanac about the Sosnovsky district. The museum also carries out various projects with other organizations of the Department of Culture, and its collections include 3,928 museum items and 1,048 scientific and auxiliary items.
