M.N. Erbanov Memorial House-Museum

About museum

The memorial house-museum is located in a building constructed in the late 19th century — the ancestral home of the Erbanov family.

The institution was established at the initiative of state farm director Valentin Viktorovich Milenkhanov as a public museum. The opening took place on March 10, 1989, on the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mikhey Nikolaevich Erbanov (1889–1938) — a political figure born in the ulus.

The exhibition includes two sections — the first is devoted to the life and activities of Mikhey Erbanov. It presents information about the life and work of this prominent political figure, a worthy son of the Bakhtai land. There are displays about his relatives, friends, and associates. The second section is local history; here visitors can see household items and material culture. The history of the native land is presented in portraits and photographs.
