In 2006, the Andrei Ilyich Kurnakov Picture Gallery was founded in a picturesque urban landscape on the banks of the Orlik River. The building was constructed in 2005 to a design by A. N. Blagoveshchensky. It houses more than 100 works by the artist, dating from the mid-1940s onward. The gallery's total area is 734.5 sq. m; exhibition space — 641.2 sq. m; storage repository — 18 sq. m. The gallery presents works by an honorary citizen of Oryol, laureate of the I. E. Repin Prize, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, and professor at Oryol State University, Andrei Ilyich Kurnakov (1916–2010). Here one can see works created over more than 60 years of creative activity, from the mid-1940s to 2010.
