Sviatoslav Richter Memorial Apartment
About museum
The 1970s were the time when Sviatoslav Richter and Nina Dorliak settled in the building at 2/6 Bolshaya Bronnaya Street near the Conservatory. The apartment was located on the 16th floor of a typical brick tower. But once inside, one could see and feel a special atmosphere in the spirit of art, inspired by the presence of its owner. The salon contained two grand pianos, two floor lamps, a tapestry and paintings. In the closet were books, records, cassettes, as well as a cabinet with sheet music and a figurine of the Infant John the Baptist. On the wall hung a portrait of Teofil Danilovich, a memento of the festivities in Tureni, as well as a portrait of Pasternak. In the green room one could find visitors relaxing and artists. Thus, Sviatoslav Richter's home was a true musical world, full of stories and objects left behind by a person on earth.
