Vasily Yakovlevich Eroshenko Literary and Memorial Museum
About museum
Vasily Yakovlevich Eroshenko was a well-known Esperantist, symbolist writer, poet, linguist and teacher who lost his sight in childhood. He became a legend among blind people in Russia and abroad, speaking twelve foreign languages and holding professorships at Tokyo and Beijing universities. His children's works are regarded as classics of Japanese literature. In memory of V.Ya. Eroshenko a museum — the house where he was born — was opened. The exhibition recreates the interior of a prosperous peasant's house from the late 19th to early 20th century. During a visit to the museum, you can learn about V.Ya. Eroshenko's work and take a guided tour through the house.
