Literary and Memorial Museum of F. M. Dostoevsky
About museum
On November 13, 1971 the Literary and Memorial Museum of F. M. Dostoevsky was opened; it is located in the house where the writer lived and worked twice. Exhibition halls, a literary exposition and a memorial apartment, its own theater and other events — all of this is present in the museum. It holds temporary exhibitions, lectures, literary and musical evenings, concerts, theatrical performances, and publishes books. The museum annually hosts the international scholarly conference "Dostoevsky and World Culture", which discusses issues of the reception of Dostoevsky's work in the modern world, the influence of his spiritual legacy, and other topics. In addition, the museum actively participates in preparing and organizing the "Dostoevsky Day" celebration, which takes place every year on the first Saturday of July.
