Kuznetsk Geological Museum of Kuzbass State Technical University named after T.F. Gorbachev

About museum

The museum presents extensive collections of rock and mineral samples, coals, ornamental and gem stones, and paleontological finds from Kuzbass; exhibits of natural geological monuments — the precious heritage of Kemerovo Oblast. A database of mineral deposits and a specimen repository have been created — 2,650 exhibition items.

The basis for establishing the museum more than 20 years ago were samples of rocks, minerals and ores from the collection of the Department of Geology of Kuzbass State Technical University named after T.F. Gorbachev. To date some 8,000 exhibits have been gathered. The museum's main pride is the 'Agates of Kuzbass' exhibition.

The museum houses samples of mineral resources, ornamental and decorative stones, Salair marble, remains of ancient animals from the Chebulinsky District of Kemerovo Oblast, mammoth bones, petrified trees and much more that will impress both children and adults.
