In September 1994 an art gallery was opened in Krasnoarmeysk, Moscow Region; it began actively building its collections and organizing exhibitions. It hosts solo exhibitions by Moscow artists, as well as solo and group exhibitions by artists from other regions of Russia. Particular attention is paid to studying the work of students and graduates of VKhUTEMAS–VKhUTEIN. The gallery's holdings number more than 7,000 works, including some 700 watercolors, lithographs, etchings, drawings, and gouaches created by graduates of the lithography department of the graphic faculty. The works of artists such as E. A. Afanasyeva, A. K. Borovskaya, S. S. Boim, F. N. Bochkov, M. Kh. Gorshman, and B. F. Sukhanov are represented in the gallery through monographic exhibitions. The gallery's collection also includes numerous documents and photographs that provide a comprehensive picture of chapters in the history of Russian visual art.
