Saint Petersburg Doll Museum

About museum

Saint Petersburg Doll Museum is the city's first private museum, located on Vasilievsky Island near the Smolenka Embankment and the Chapel of Xenia the Blessed. It is the only museum in the city that exhibits all types of dolls. Here you can find more than 40,000 exhibits, including life-size, glove, rod (stick), and finger puppets. The museum has nine halls of permanent exhibition featuring characters from the works of Pushkin and Andersen and from Eastern tales, a hall of folk dolls, a hall of military dolls, and the Petersburg Perspective gallery. The museum hosts various interactive games, children's quests, themed workshops, competitions and exhibitions. Visitors can also watch master craftsmen create handmade souvenir dolls. In the museum gift shop Petersburg Gift you can purchase dolls and other souvenirs.
