Pochep Local History Museum
About museum
In 1937 a museum was founded in Pochep, located in a two-story brick building from the late 19th century. The main section of the exhibition is devoted to the archaeological culture of Pochep, made famous by F. M. Zavernyaev. The museum displays models of ancient dwellings, dioramas, ritual pottery, stone tools, bones of mammoths, bison and reindeer, as well as household items and weapons from the 19th - early 20th centuries. Notably, the museum has a corner dedicated to local natives who became famous in music, art and military service. We also highlight the region's wildlife, which is likewise presented in dioramas.
